 14 killed, scores injured in terrorist mortar attacks on Damascus, its countryside, Aleppo and Hama

14 citizens were killed and scores wounded on Sunday by takfiri terrorist organizations’s mortar shell attacks against residential neighborhoods in different major cities in different provinces of the country

Damascus Countryside

12 civilians were killed and scores others were injured in terrorist attacks with mortar shells on Damascus Central Prison in Adra and al-Wafideen Camp neighborhood.

Five shells smashed into Damascus Central Prison in Adra area, killing 10 people and injuring 50 others, according to a Police Command source.

A medical source in the Police Hospital said that the dead bodies of 10 arrived at the hospital including seven women in addition to scores of wounded civilians, among them women and children.

Later, the source added that two of the injured died of their wounds.

The prison’s director, Brigadier-general Nabil al-Ghajari said in a statement that the terrorist organizations targeted the visitors break near the prison entrance with mortars at 10 am, a fixed and known time when citizens to visit their imprisoned relatives, noting that the prison was targeted several times by terrorist organizations.

Meanwhile, three mortar shells, the source added, landed in al-Wafidin Camp neighborhood which hosts thousands of citizens displaced from the Golan.

Three people were injured in the attack on the neighborhood, which also caused massive material damage to a number of houses and shops.

A medical source at the nearby Police Hospital said 6 women were among the dead.

Four civilians were injured when mortar shells fell on Harasta Highway and al-Wafideen Camp in Damascus Countryside.

A source in Damascus Countryside Police Command said that two shels fell in Jaramana city, injuring nine persons.

Another shell fell in Harasta residential suburb, causing property losses.

Takfiri terrorists under the leadership of the so-called Jaish al-Islam, al-Islam brigade and Fajr al-Umma brigade are active in the Eastern Ghouta and regularly target nearby areas and neighborhoods with shells.

Damascus

Two civilians killed

Meanwhile, two civilians were killed and scores were injured in terrorist attacks with mortar and rocket shells on Damascus Sunday.

A police source told SANA reporter that 16 shells fired by terrorists fell into some neighborhoods in Damascus which resulted in killing two civilians and injuring 12 others who rushed to hospitals for treatment.

The source added that the terrorist attacks caused fire to break out in a shop in the area surrounding Bab Touma square and inflicted material damage on a number of houses and cars.

22 civilians injured in Bab Touma

In the evening, 22 civilians were injured in terrorist attacks with mortar shells on the residential neighborhoods of Bab Touma and al-Qassa’a in Damascus on Sunday evening.

A source at Damascus Police Command told SANA that a mortar shell fired by terrorists fell on a microbus in Bab Touma historical neighborhood in Damascus Old City, injuring 18 civilians who were rushed to al-Faransi (The French) Hospital and three of them were in critical condition.

The source added that another mortar shell fell on a house in al-Qassa’a neighborhood, injuring four civilians, three of them are from the same family, in addition to causing a huge material damage in the house.

Aleppo

In Aleppo city, nine civilians were injured in a terrorist rocket attack on al-Mogambo neighborhood.

A source at the Aleppo Police Command told SANA that rockets fired by terrorists holed up in Bani Zeid neighborhood landed in al-Mogambo neighborhood, injuring a total of nine people; six of them near Al-Andalus Hospital and 3 near al-Mogambo roundabout.

The source added that the injured were rushed to the University Hospital for treatment, and that the attack caused damage to public and private property.

Hama

On a relevant note, a source at the Hama Police Command told SANA that terrorists detonated an IED on the road between Ethraya and al-Sabboura in al-Salamiye area in the southeast of Hama province, injuring two civilians.

The source added that the authorities also disabled two other IEDs planted by terrorists on the same road.
