The Agriculture Directorate in Hama province antipated on Sunday that the province will produce about 7800 tons of peanuts out of the cultivated lands this season which are about 18000 hectares.
Mohammaed Said Knifid, an agronomist at Hama Agriculture Directorate, told SANA that the most productive areas in the province are Kafar Zita, Mihardeh, and Hama where each dunum produces about 400 to 500 kilo grams.
Meanwhile, the General Commission for Developing al-Ghab Area in Hama estimated the produce of peanut in al-Ghab area this season about 3250 tons.
Peanut is an oily crop. Its fruits are used in making oils, tahini and treacle.
