China invites Syrian government and opposition to visit the republic

China will invite representatives of Syrian government and the opposition to visit the republic to contribute to finding a political solution for the crisis in Syria.

“The invitation was announced by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi who took part in the third ministerial meeting on Syria of the UN Security Council in New York,” Reuters quoted China’s Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Hong Lei as saying.

“We will provide the respective information in due time,” Lei said, adding the talks are expected to take place “in the nearest future.”
